12-11-2010 PASSENGER FOCUS GROUP

John Yellowlees from Scotrail brought some of his colleagues from the passenger focus group to visit the Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre today. They were Robert Samson, David Beer and Syra Syeda. John Yellowlees is in charge of the ‘adopt a station’ scheme, which our heritage centre is part of. The centre has been nominated for the UK station of the year award, which I am sure we will win. We met our guests as they stepped off the Balloch train, we were all dressed in our medieval gear and you could see they were really surprised at the welcome. The visitors were extremely impressed with what we have done with the centre and were in awe of the art work and displays. The guests had some lunch and tea while we talked to them about what we do in the local community and around Scotland. After the visit we received some really nice emails from the visitors saying how impressed they were with what we have achieved. It was a really worthwhile and productive visit and hopefully it will lead to good connections and some well deserved rewards. Thanks to everyone who came down to represent our group that day: Duncan Thomson, Jim and Lynne Tannock, Paul and Susan Hunter, Tommy and Elspeth Crocket, Jeanette Ryan, Chris Pollock and Gordon Aitkin.
