Dear Dalreoch Primary School,
Now that the Robert theBruceHeritage Centre is
now formally open it is time to congratulate everyone in making this possible.
Hanging pride of place was our stags head and the paintings you sent us
depicting King Robert and William Wallace. Also on our table in the Heritage
Centre adorns our visitor’s book kindly donated by Dalreoch Primary School
and at this moment in time is filling up nice with visitors signatures.
Once again we must inform you of our closeness with Dalreoch Primary
because of the King Robert the Bruce connection. Your school is at the heart
of King Robert’s Royal lands and in our eyes that makes your school very
important to us. You are situated between Dumbarton Castle and the Kings
manor house at the River Leven so you have the best vantage point of any
school in Scotland for history.
On our visits we have been amazed at the children’s interest and passion on
medieval life and your knowledge has impressed us very much. Usually when
we go to visit schools we have to inform the children of Scotland’s history but
you surprised us all with your great questions as you have obviously studied
this in great detail. We noticed on your walls too paintings of knights and
Scottish ags (Saltires) which made us feel very very welcome. It was a great
pleasure in meeting you all and hopefully soon we can come visit the class
again and swap stories on medieval life.
On behalf of the Strathleven Artizans thank you very much for your wonderful
donations for our centre and don’t forget the Centre is open every day if you
wish to view your stags head, paintings or just wish to sign our new visitors
book, then you are more than welcome. We are very proud of our Centre
and hope your school is equally proud in playing a part in our opening day.
Our Patron Lord and Lady Elgin have commented on your donations and are
very pleased of the interest and contribution from your school and send their
respects and wishes to you all. Well done Dalreoch Primary School!!
We will in due course repeat this letter on our web site for all to see.
Kind regards,
Paul Hunter (Secretary)
Strathleven Artizans
